Yesterday evening, I went outside to sweep my porch. The dogs have managed to dig up almost every blade of grass in the back yard, so they track in dirt on a daily basis, requiring a good sweeping several times a week.
Because I don’t like the feel of grainy dirt on my feet, and because I am a tad lazy, I put these shoes on the porch as a matter of convenience…just so I’d have them handy…

Now, I know they’re not the prettiest, but in their heyday, they were my favorites, and they are still really comfortable.
Anyhoo…
I slipped my feet in to get busy, and all of sudden I jerked back.
My right foot had encountered an obstacle when sliding into my shoe.
I screamed and flipped the shoes off.
I fearfully took a peek inside and screamed like a girl (hey, what can I say? I am a girl!).
I did the heebie-jeebie dance, flinging my hands and arms around like someone who’s just been grossed out.
The Mr. raised his eyebrow. He’s used to my antics.
I do this when I see spiders and cockroaches too.
However, being the dedicated blogger that I am, I grabbed the camera and faced my fear.
Look at what was inside my shoe…

Yep. That’s a frog.
It has been raining buckets around here lately, and I suspect that little guy came in for a reprieve. The Mr. suspects that the critter also found it warm and cozy, although I fail to see how the smell of my stinky feet would be comforting to anyone, but hey, what do I know? I am not the Frog Whisperer.
So, the shoes are still on my porch. I refuse to touch them. I am afraid that little froggy is going to jump out and scare the bejeepers out of me again.
Hello, my name is AuburnChick, and I am a sissy.

ahhh – but he’s so cute!!!!!!!
I love froggies… I am constantly picking them up to save them from the dogs around here. And sadly, they usually end up peeing on my hands… EWWWW!!!!
I have some slip ons that I leave on the porch, too, and it occurred to me the other day that something may be in them. I shook them out real good before I put them on, but even then I was a little hesitant! I just kept thinking about little scorpions (that we had in Ga. but don’t have here!). *shudder*
Apparently, you are the frog whisperer! He’s too cute. Just be glad it wasn’t a huge spider or something that stings. And that you didn’t kill it!
Awww, good job! He needed that spot and you let him have it.
Not as cute as the footwear you normally post! But the little critter inside there is pretty adorable … even though I don’t like frogs!
Too cute….I bet he was more afraid of you!!
It’s the Prince Frog come to life! Maybe he lost his crown and wanted you to knit him a new one!
