Untitled Hymn

On the way home from my Wednesday Night Bible Study, I heard this song on the radio.

It’s Chris Rice’s Untitled Hymn (Come to Jesus) and my favorite song.  In fact, he’s my favorite Christian singer and songwriter.
I love this song because it chronicles a Christian’s life, from the heartache of not knowing Him to the joy of entering into a relationship with a God who never leaves your side…through the good and bad stuff.

Chris Rice – Untitled Hymn (Come To Jesus) Lyrics

Weak and wounded sinner
Lost and left to die
O, raise your head, for love is passing by
Come to Jesus
Come to Jesus
Come to Jesus and live!

Now your burden’s lifted
And carried far away
And precious blood has washed away the stain, so
Sing to Jesus
Sing to Jesus
Sing to Jesus and live!

And like a newborn baby
Don’t be afraid to crawl
And remember when you walk
Sometimes we fall…so
Fall on Jesus
Fall on Jesus
Fall on Jesus and live!

Sometimes the way is lonely
And steep and filled with pain
So if your sky is dark and pours the rain, then
Cry to Jesus
Cry to Jesus
Cry to Jesus and live!

O, and when the love spills over
And music fills the night
And when you can’t contain your joy inside, then
Dance for Jesus
Dance for Jesus
Dance for Jesus and live!

And with your final heartbeat
Kiss the world goodbye
Then go in peace, and laugh on Glory’s side, and
Fly to Jesus
Fly to Jesus
Fly to Jesus and live!

  1. the line….”& laugh on Glory’s side”…. oh, that just makes me smile..

I havent heard this song in awhile… wonderful, encouraging words

  2. I love that song, too. When I bought that CD years ago, it made me cry the first time I heard it. Chris Rice has been a favorite for years. I think ‘Cartoons’ is what got me hooked when I was younger, though the bulk of his music is more meaningful and soothing. Thanks for sharing this and reminding me of an old fave.

  3. Thank you for sharing this! The words and music are well matched. I’m going to buy it on iTunes thanks to you!
