Hmmm…I’ve never had a blog before. I’ve given it serious thought recently, but today was the day that made me decide to “Just Do It!”

We’re on vacation, and we went to rent a car. Let me tell you…they do things a lot differently on the West coast! Renting a car was the most surreal experience ever! We arrived at the rental agency, only to be greeted by a platoon of eager sales people. Little did we know what was in store…

After doing the initial paperwork, the family headed out to pick out a car. Huh? I’ve always just been given the keys with a “See ya!” So we’re trolling for the “perfect” car to drive around in for the next week, when out of the blue, another sales lady and her “victim” swoop in and snatch a rather attractive car (i.e. “not-my-mother’s car” in my price range) from us!! The nerve. We finally decided on a vehicle that wouldn’t embarass our daughter too much. Yeah, right!

Mind you…it’s an upgrade…of course. We walk around the car, inspecting it…sales gal explaining that the scratches can be buffed out. Huh? We’re just driving the thing around town for a few days…not renting to own! Meanwhile, I have my eye on a lovely Mercedes just begging to be taken for a ride. “No go,” says the sales lady…at least not for a $5/day upgrade.

Whatever. What a meat market!!!!

Well, that’s it for now. Hopefully, I’ll have interesting things to post in the future!
