Shopping Shenanigans

I know it’s been awhile since I talked about shopping.  Honestly, I really have not gone on many trips lately.

In my effort to save money, In my laziness, I’ve tried to stay out of the stores.   Thankfully, we’ve had my stockpile to eat from.

Well, one look at my fridge this weekend, and I realized it was time to get my coupon folders out…

The freezer did not look a whole lot better…

Even though the current Publix sales flyer is not that great, I still picked up a few things…

I spent $18.58 for the above items, saving $47.87, for a grand savings of 72%.

I thought it would be an eye-opener to list each of my favorite deals, the final prices I paid, along with the regular prices in parentheses beside them.  This will give you a good idea of how much money you can save by combining sales with coupons…

Mustard – $.45 each (regular $1.89)
Pasta
– $.15 each (regular $1.29)
Boxed Potatoes
– $.40 each (regular $1.79)
Salad Dressing
– $.64 each (regular $3.27)
Tornados
– $.50 each (regular $2.50)
Snuggle Fabric Softener – $2 each (regular $6.99)
Breyers Ice Cream
– $1.15 each (regular $4.29)

Even though I didn’t have coupons on the red potatoes, salad, and cheese, those items were on sale as well.

I divided my groceries into two batches because I had two Family Dollar coupons ($5 off of $25 and $5 off of $20).  My Publix will only allow customers to use one of these per transaction (no more stacking like the good old days).

So yes, I was the weird shopper who calculated everything as I shopped and used the toilet paper in my next transaction as the divider in my cart.

I’m so weird.

Here was round #2:

I spent $15.10, saved $35.82, for a grand savings of 70%.

Here are the deals, sales prices, and regular prices…just to compare…

Reynolds Wrap – $.90 each (regular $4.29)
Carvel Ice Cream Cake
– $1.99 each (regular $9.99)

I did not have a coupon for the olive oil, but it was B1G1, and we go through worlds of this in my house, so I consider it a good deal.  The toilet paper is my weekly purchase.  Even though it rings up at $6.15, I had a $.25 coupon.  Every little bit helps!

Today, I headed back out for more shopping after reading up on additional deals that were too good to pass up.

My free items of the week were these…

Publix has them B1G1, and there was a $1 coupon in the 6/27 SmartSource.  Publix has a store coupon in its current yellow Advantage Buy paper for $1.

After matching one set per bottle, I actually MADE $2.01!!!!

So, I couldn’t let the overage go to waste.  I picked up the cheapest ($2.45) bowl of watermelon I could find…

Grand total?

$.44.

Yep.  Floridians do not pay taxes on essential grocery items, and all of these are considered non-junky.

I saved $5.99 on that one transaction, making for a 93% savings on those three items.

Next, I headed over to CVS.

The first thing I did was scan my ECB card at the price checker scanner located by the cashier.

The machine was overly generous today, spitting out a long length of paper with several coupons printed on it.  At the very bottom was an ECB for $1.50!!

Remember that Extra Care Bucks (ECBs) are as good as money.  You take the amount of your ECB off the total of your bill.  Simple as that!

So, I was starting ahead of the game.

My first transaction was the following…

The deal was that you got a $1 ECB after buying the deodorant, which is on sale for $7.99 (after being marked down $2).  Inside the box was a package of coupons, among which I found a $1/1 deodorant coupon.

Cha-Ching!

I paid $7.47 and got my ECB.

My second transaction included the following items…

I used another $1 coupon on the deodorant.  I had $.25 coupons on the detergent, which is on sale for $.99 ($1 cheaper than the regular price).

The Pantene was on a clearance shelf for half off ($2.50).  I had a $2 coupon, so I got it for $.50.

For this transaction, I used the $1.50 ECB I’d gotten when I walked in along with the $1 ECB that printed after my first purchase.  After paying, I got another $1 ECB from buying the deodorant.  I will probably use this during my next Publix trip.

Total paid was $7.12.  I saved a little over $12.  It wasn’t the greatest percentage of savings (almost 50%), but every little bit helps, and seeing as I am trying to get Chicky stocked up for college, I did what I could.

So, have you been shopping lately? Taken advantage of any good deals?

What Did AuburnChick Get Free Today?

Ahhh…one nice thing about getting the day off is having time to think!

Yeah, yeah.  No comments from the peanut gallery.

Seriously.  With the house quiet, I was able to read couponing blogs, focus on my objective (to spend as little money as possible), and think!

By 11:15, I had visited Target twice, returning home with these free goodies…

The reason I was there twice was because when I went the first time, I spied the above razor, on an endcap (facing the inside aisle, not the main, outside aisle).  Look at the clearance sticker…

Well, I happened to have the 6/6/10 Proctor & Gamble insert with me, and inside was a $4 off of the razor!!

It took every bit of law-abiding good sense not to speed home and right back to pick up my second coupon.

As it was, I actually went home after the first trip, got Chicky to church so she could leave for a camp, and then returned.  I probably looked like one of those speed walkers as I made my way back to that endcap.

As I approached, I saw two ladies eyeballing my endcap.

HELLO…you better pray you’re not thinking of getting MY razor, I wanted to shout.

But I didn’t.

What I did do was excuse myself as I slid between them, arm reaching up and out for that razor, explaining that this item was the main thing I had gone shopping for.

I dared not look at them.  Who knows what they might have thought.

Who cares.

I made money on that transaction, using the overage to pay for a couple of other items.

After, I ran a couple of other errands, finally winding up at Taco Bell, where I took advantage of a coupon for free Margarita Freeze…

Oh

My

Gosh!

The tarty rush of delight was a shock.  Soooooo yummy!!  It felt almost wrong to be standing inside the house while drinking it.  I should have been on the beach!!

Anyhoo…

Next, I sat down and went through Southern Saver’s Publix list, pulling coupons and THINKING.

I came home with a passel of groceries.

I only paid $32 and some change, saving over $70 and 67% overall.

Several of the above items were free…

Several items were nearly free.  I paid a scant $.03 (yes, that’s three cents) for each loaf of bread and less than a quarter for both the deli meat and deli cheese.  Each box of granola bars was $1.

Of course, the $6 toilet paper brought my total up, but hey, what can I say.

When I got home from shopping, the mail had arrived.

Among the items, I found the following box…

Inside was…

That, my friends, is the newest Gillette Fusion razor, complete with battery and everything.

I got it free by “liking” Gillette on Facebook and watching for the announcement to head over to a youtube site to sign up for a free razor.  The company gave away thousands of these over the course of a few weeks.

I won mine last week.  I am impressed with how fast it came!  The Mr.’s eyes lit up when he saw it.

So, it was a good day for getting free stuff.

Oh, and before I forget, did anyone take advantage of the National Donut Day last week?  Several shops offered customers free donuts.  I headed over to Krispy Kreme and picked up my favorite flavor…

Ok…so the drink wasn’t free, but I couldn’t resist.  It is a Jolly Rancher Green Apple Chiller, and it tastes EXACTLY like a Jolly Rancher!!  YUM!

Oh yeah…it’s been a good few days!

Thin Mints On Steroids

A few days ago, I went shopping to take advantage of a few sales.  I came home with the following…

Obviously, Oreos were on sale. I got each box for under $.14 each.

Rooster LOVES the Cakesters, and he had been waiting for me to find a good deal on them.

Well, folks, I had major coupons (thank you, Coupon Queen!) that paired up quite nicely with the B1G1 offers, so I bought 20 – the first time I went (I say that while gulping guiltily).

As I was selecting my products in the store, I innocently picked up a box of these…

Rooster and his cousin, Music Man, were playing Xbox in the other room.  I offered a cookie to each of them, while taking a bite of my own.

OH

MY

GOSH.

First, a peek into the delicious middle of this fabo cookie…

Folks, a lot of science obviously went into this product (notice it’s “new”).

See how the cookie is layered?

First, the chocolate outer coating.

Next is the fudge.

Next is the creme filling.

On the bottom is the cookie.

Oh, and what you can’t see is the mint flavoring.

OH

MY

GOSH.

These cookies taste just like Girl Scouts’ Thin Mints, except that the fudge layer makes the cookie less dry and tres delicious.

I stuck the box of cookies in the fridge.

OH

MY

GOSH.

Even better!

We’ve eaten two boxes so far.

I took back the five boxes of regular fudge cremes and exchanged them for the mint.

We’re all fighting over these cookies.  In fact, I even caught Chicky mint-handed as she tried to devour a cookie undetected.

Um, I don’t think so.

I’m putting most of the cookie boxes into Cookie Jail.  Otherwise, we’re going to go through the almost 30 boxes I now possess (thanks to return trips) in under a week.

Seriously.

They’re that good.

Run to your nearest store.

Buy a box.

Tell me what you think.

Remember…I won’t steer you wrong.  Don’t forget about those coconut M&M’s I told you about.

Trust AuburnChick.

I know chocolate.

Some Things You Don’t Skimp On

It’s been three weeks since I touched my coupons.

What can I say?  Life has kept me busy.

We’ve made really small trips for deli sandwiches and such, but no major excursions.

However, today was the first in a while that I did not have to sub. I planned on taking advantage of my day off.

I dragged out the coupons…

Yeah, it’s as messy in real life as in those pictures.  Hence, my reluctance to dive back in.

However, Rooster had started getting ornery, pretty much demanding that I get my act in gear.  He’s almost 16 and eats a lot.  In his words, “I’ve eaten everything that’s edible.”

Not very subtle, eh?

So, I got my list together and headed out.

I spent more than usual, but only because my store will not accept the $5/$20 Rite Aid coupons any more.

Still, I saved 60%.  Sorry, but I did not take any pictures.

I heard ooohhh’s and ahhhh’s as the kids and the Mr. discovered the cookies and chips I had come home with.  You’d have thought they’ve never seen those items before!

A bit later, Chicky emerged from the restroom with a, “Whoa, what kind of toilet paper did you buy?”

Uh oh.

I guess the Scott’s wasn’t going over very well…

I thought I was getting a great deal.  I used a $1 coupon to drop the price I paid to $2.99.  I had compared the yardage and saw I was getting more for my money.

Plus, I thought Chicky liked rough toilet paper.  She used to tell me to buy “gas station toilet paper” because she did not like the soft stuff.

I guess her preferences have changed…matured, if you will.

I would have done well to check the number of plys per sheet.

It is one-ply.

“Suck it up,” I said.  I’ll get some better stuff next time, making no mention of the $10 stuff I buy for the Mr.’s bathroom (which I’ve blogged about before).

Still thinking it was no big deal, I headed over to the kids’ bathroom for a tinkle.

One spin of the roll, and I was hollering, “Whoa!”

Rooster heard me and said, “Told you so.”

That he did.

I learned my lesson.  There are just some things you don’t skimp on.

His and Hers Grocery Carts

Grocery shopping is a routine thing for me.

Grocery shopping with the Mr. is not so routine.

Grocery shopping with the Mr. and two separate carts is completely foreign.

Welcome to Podunk, USA, where you see a lot of unusual things.

It all started when my Publix decided not to allow customers to use the $5 off of $20 coupons.  Stacking them was a huge money saver!  Rats, but it was good while it lasted.

Despite this, my store is still allowing us to use Harveys coupons.  Harveys is a competitor grocery store.  Southern Savers has $5 off of $25 coupons that can be printed multiple times.  But, you can’t stack them (use two for a $50 order).

So, I asked the Mr. to go to the store with me.

He was game.

I gave him a calculator and an envelope.  My envelope had all of the coupons, so when we got to an item that was going into his buggy, I gave him the coupons he needed.  We both tallied our totals as we went to ensure that we would each hit the dollar amount needed to be able to use the Harveys coupons.

I’m sure we were quite a sight, but as I said before, when you live in Podunk, USA, you see strange things.

You also run into people you know everywhere you go.

The first person we saw was a soccer dad.  The conversation went something like this:

“Hey you two,” he said, eying both of our buggies.  “I see you’re getting buy one get one frees.”

We chuckled.

“So, how’s your daughter doing,” I asked, to get his mind off of why a married couple would be following each other around the grocery store…both people pushing their own buggies.

“Fine, fine,” he said.  “I’m just here to pick up some dinner.  We’ve been working in the yard.”

I really wanted to offer him a coupon or two, but I’m stingy, and things just felt a little weird.

The Mr. piped up with an intelligent (yeah, right) quip…”Pick out something easy for dinner.”

Um, yeah.  That would be what you’re doing, oh keeper of the Contessa Frozen Shrimp coupons, which, by the way, is what you’re having for dinner.

I laughed nervously, wished the friend well, and booked it around the corner.

“Well, that was a little embarrassing,” I told the Mr.  “It’s bad enough that we already sit in separate parts of the bleachers when we watch Chicky play soccer.  Now we’re shopping sort-of-separately.”

“Uh, yeah, I guess I see your point,” he said, laughing.

On we went.

Upon hitting the water aisle, we saw a soccer mom.  She drew near just as I was ordering the Mr. to put a couple of packages into his buggy, handing over the $1 coupons.

“You don’t have to tell me what to do,” he said, “Especially with people we know standing so close.”

“Be quiet and get me another two packages.  Put them in my buggy,” I said.

When you’ve been married 20 years, a conversation like this is typical.

I smiled politely at our friend and hustled to the next aisle.

Before we headed to the register, we parked our buggies near the wine section (I could have used a toddy about that time) and tallied up our totals.  I wanted to ensure we didn’t spend a penny more than we needed.

I have no idea if anyone passed by us, but what a sight we must have been…the Mr. crunching numbers on the calculator as fast I could call them out to him, me sticking coupons in an envelope as I read them off.

Penny-pinchers to the core, I tell you.

We visited my favorite cashier’s lane, and she smiled when she saw us (LOVE that lady!).  The Mr. stood in line behind me, coupons in hand…ever the obedient spouse.

My total came out to $12 and some change.  I was a little disappointed, but I’m not a math person, so I probably figured wrong.  Yeah, I know.  I even had a calculator, but numbers and AuburnChick do not go together.  Still, I saved over $50.

The Mr.’s total?  $6.06.  His savings was almost $80.

He smiled.

I assured him that in truth, I get the credit for the savings since I pulled the coupons and organized the trip and even put the stuff in his cart.

We’re a bit on the competitive side.

We’re soccer parents.  We play to win.

Total spent in groceries:  $19.03
What we would have spent without the sales and coupons:  $149.96
Percentage saved:  87%

That’s no chump change!

Here’s a picture of what we came home with…

Cheez-Its – $.04 each
Morton Salt – Moneymaker of $.37
Edwards Pies – $.50 each.
Granola Bars – $.75 each
Water – $.24 each
Shout – Moneymaker of $.11.
Scrubbing Bubbles – $.25 each
Windex – $.25 each
Bread – $.33

Oh, and let me show you what I got when I went to a different Publix earlier in the day…

I only spent $1.35 for everything.  I saved $50.40 (97%)!

So, the shopping is over…for this day, anyway.

I’m sure the rumor mill is flying, though, at the thought of AuburnChick and the Mr. shopping with his/her’s carts.

Hmmm…I wonder if the friend noticed the cleaning products in the Mr.’s buggy?

Not only does the family shop separately, but the Mr. does the cleaning!

Welcome to Podunk, USA — home to strange sightings and men who pretend they’re the ones keeping the house clean!

AuburnChick Saves $200

Despite Chicky’s comment that Your’s Truly is now an old lady, I scrounged up some grey matter and managed to do really good at the grocery store yesterday.

First off, here’s the loot I came home with…

Don’t recognize the table?  Well, that’s because it’s my dining room table.  I brought home so much stuff that I didn’t have room for it on the kitchen table.

Here are a few close-ups of what I got…

A breakdown, after coupons and sales…

10 bottles of shampoo/conditioner – $.75 per bottle (savings of 70%)
6 jars of Classico sauce – $.80 per jar (savings of 69%)
2 boxes of Ritz – $.80 per box (savings of 78%)
10 boxes of Crackerfuls – $.80 per box (savings of 78%)
2 cans of Dole pineapple – $.60 per can (savings of 66%)
2 tubs of Curly’s BBQ – $1.85 per tub (savings of 68%)
2 tubs Bob Evans Mashed Potatoes – $.20 per tub (savings of 94%)
2 pkgs Ore Ida Mashed Potatoes – $1 per pkg (savings of 75%)
4 boxes cereal – MONEYMAKER of $.21
2 bottles of oil – $.90 per bottle (savings of 76%)
4 boxes of cake mix – $.68 per box (savings of 66%)
4 boxes of pasta – $.20 per box (savings of 86%)
4 bags of chips – $1 per bag (savings of 75%)
2 blocks of cheese
– $1.16 per block (savings of 30%)
4 pkgs of cookies – $.25 per pkg (savings of 93%)
4 bags of Pita chips – $.50 per bag (savings of 80%)
2 pkgs of bacon – $1.50 per pkg (savings of 65%)
2 bags of salad – $1.59 per bag (savings of 56%)

I had a few other miscellaneous items…some of which I used coupons, and some of which I didn’t.

The final total?

Spent: $39.22
Saved: $213.82
Savings: 85%

More Savings at Publix

Oh boy, but this was a good week for shopping at Publix!

Take a look at the haul…

Free Items:  Carl Buddig Deli Cuts, McCormick Spices, Dove Conditioner, and two boxes of Cakesters.

Yep.  Totally free.

I found my deals by going to I Heart Publix and Southern Savers.  Why two sites?  Because different couponing blogs catch different items on sale.  I never want to miss any!

So, I’ll bet you want to know how much I spent, right?

Let me first share how much I saved:  $120.10.

And the output?

$13.99.

Yep.  It was my second best week ever!

I plan on heading back out tomorrow for four more bags of the chicken fries.  They’re too good of a deal to pass up.  Unfortunately, everyone else in Podunk, USA thinks so too because my stores were OUT!  They are getting more tomorrow.

Yay for good shopping trips!!

Free Toothbrushes and Other Goodies

After sitting down with my computer and coupon binder, I headed out to the stores.

I had some deals to score.

My haul from Winn Dixie…

The toothbrushes were free.  How did I do it?  I used B1G1 coupons to take full advantage of the B1G1 sale.

The Always boxes were $.50 each after the sale and coupons, the cinnamon rolls were $.05 (yes, that’s a nickel) after I did my thing, and the ice cream cups were $.19 each.  The kids can thank me now.

Total Spent:  $2.98 after saving $41.77.

To give credit where credit is due, here’s where I read about the deals.

Next, I headed over to Publix…

I read this post, which listed all of the deals.

My favorite savings were the following items:  yogurt cup – free, Edys Fruit Bars – $1.05 per box, Bumblebee Tuna – $1 per tin, Pringles – $.75 per canister, and the Scotties Kleenex for $.49.

I also did very well on the cleaning supplies, paying a little over $.80 per item after coupons.  The store is running a promotion this week that if you purchase the three different items, you get an additional $4 (coupon in the ad).

The Ensure was a little bit of a splurge, but I had a $3/2 Publix q and two $3/1 mfr q’s, dropping the price to a little less than half for both.  The Mr. drinks Ensure when his stomach is bothering him, so it won’t go to waste.

Total Spent:  $27.55 after saving $57.21.

All-in-all, a GREAT day of shopping!

A Typical Day in My Life

Readers, the byline on my blog should give some “indication” that a day in the life of AuburnChick is no ordinary, blah-blah day.

Take today, for instance.

First of all, it was a Monday…but no ordinary Monday.  It was a Monday after a weekend of soccering, which meant that I was already starting behind the 8-ball.

I got up my usual 15 minutes past when I should have.  I’ve become a night owl and just cannot seem to get into bed before 12 or 12:30.

Ugh.

The kids and I did devotions.  This was the only calm part of my day.

Somehow, on the way out the door, Chicky and I managed to have a knock-down-drag-out argument.

Great.

I despise starting the day like that.

Next, I went to school, where I had the pleasure (and I mean that in an evil-grin-sort-of-way) of surprising a few students who were not expecting me to be their sub for the next two weeks.  Envision this:

Said students lazily walk in to class…semi-smiles on their faces…chatting it up with other said students.

They briefly glance up to see Your’s Truly standing at the podium in front of the class.

“Cough, grumble, grumble,” was all I heard out of their mouths.

I smiled a Cheshire Cat Smile.

Gotcha!

“You better watch what you say,” one student says to an unsuspecting classmate.  “She hears everything,” he continues.

They know me well.

I then overhear something said about me and say something in response, to the surprise of the guilty offender.

He looks up, surprised.

“Told you so,” says the other student.

I laugh.

I was pleasantly surprised to discover that first period was not as bad as last semester’s class.  Second period was a dream.

That was the best part of my day.

I had Planning after second period and went to pick up the dogs.  Ok.  This was another good part of my day…seeing their happy, waggy behinds greeting me.  I had paid a little extra to get all three bathed, and they were soft, fluffy, and smelled like doggy perfume.

Pele thought I was up to something…I think he was worried I would be dropping him off at the doggy hotel again…

Aubie was her usual happy self, but you can’t tell it in the picture below.  She assumed her “I Didn’t Eat for a Week to Fit into My Outfit Model Face” when asked to pose…

I hurried to gather a few coupons together, planning to head back to the grocery store for a few more items before the current sales end.  However, it was just at that time that I received a text from Rooster…

“Mama, can you come get me at lunch.  I’m sick.”

Oh no.  I get visibly upset when my children are sick.  I mean, you’d think I’d don a professional “doctor” attitude…semi-cold and all business when the kids don’t feel well, but noooooo…I have to get all weepy-worried still!  Ugh.  Remember…I have turned into a cryer.

Anyhoo…I ran back to the school, this time in Mom-Mode, not Substitute-Mode.

Now, you have to understand that when Rooster gets sick, he REALLY gets sick.  He’s not your sniffly kind of kid.  He has a strong immune system, so when a virus hits, he goes down hard.

He went straight to bed when he got home.

Ever the practical gal and wanting to get my free spaghetti sauce, I headed to the store, where I got this for $1.83, saving over $20…

During my trip, though, I received a phone call from Rooster.

“Mama, where are you?”

“I’m at Publix.  Are you okay?”

“I threw up, and I need you to come home and clean it up,” he said.

“Weren’t you in the bathroom,” I asked, even though I already knew the answer.

“No, I couldn’t make it there,” he said.  “I threw up on the floor.”

Great.  This is just what every mother wants to hear when she’s in the process of putting food in her buggy.  Kind of takes the appetite away, you know?

Unfortunately, this is not the first time he’s done this.  The last time he got sick, he tried to be smart and threw up into his trash can.  The only problem?  It was a wicker basket.  Everything went right through.

Blech.

Well, I made an instant decision.  Rooster will be cleaning up the puke when he feels better, and as soon as we’re financially able, that carpet is getting replaced.  Between dog puke and human puke, we’ve covered almost his entire room.

Blech.

Sorry for the vivid imagery.  I know you didn’t ask for it.  However, when you load up my blog, you do so at your own risk.  All’s fair in love and AuburnChick’s blog, eh?

LOL

The rest of my afternoon was spent arguing with Chicky (as only moms and daughters can do), discussing my “issues,” and catching up on laundry from the weekend.

Oh yeah, and answering phone calls from Rooster.

Yep.  He used his cell phone to call me from his bedroom to ask me to take him a glass of water.

Seriously?

Yep.

Poor kid.  He has FCAT the next two days, and I’m thinking he’s going to have to make them up.

But, if you live in my world, today’s events are really not that unusual.  It’s just another day in my life.

A Soccer Weekend

Did you miss me?

Any time I haven’t blogged for a couple of days in a row, you can be assured that I’m soccering.

After having a lovely couple of weekends off, we hit the road for a busy soccer weekend.

Chicky made herself comfortable, as we spent about ten hours, total, in the car this weekend…

We dropped Rooster off mid-way.  He had plans to spend the weekend at Super Sis’s house.  Music Man (my nephew) recently turned 16, and he had requested the presence of his cousin at his shindig.  We were happy to oblige.

Friday night and Saturday morning, Chicky had the honor of playing in the Girls’ All Star soccer game.  This is an invitation-only event, so we were doubly excited.  She saw several travel teammates, so it was like one big reunion.

Guy Friend arrived during her first game, and he hitched a ride back north with us.  He is on Spring Break this week.

Chicky’s team won both games, winning the overall competition (yay!).

We then drove a few hours north so that Chicky could practice with her travel team.  Spring season is upon them, and the girls are trying to get ready for State Cup…THE main event for select soccer.

Chicky played in a second game on Saturday and had a three-hour practice this morning.  Needless to say, her legs are shot.

While in Big Town, USA, we ate at one of our favorite Mexican restaurants…

Spinach Artichoke Tostados and wine in a plastic glass (a first)…YUM!

We then headed for home, picking up Rooster along the way.

We barely had room for his gear…the car was loaded down!

We actually arrived home earlier than anticipated, so I had time to run by Publix to take advantage of a weekend-only sale on cereal…

I got all eight boxes for $3.92, saving over $12!!!  I wound up getting each box for $.49…a savings of 88%!!

Yeah, Baby!!

While I was at the store, I took my receipts from last week back, along with coupons I did not have with me at the time I shopped, and recouped over $6, which I used to buy the above cereal.  Thank goodness stores are very understanding when dealing with brain-dead moms like myself!!

Tomorrow, I begin a two-week subbing assignment for the teacher I subbed for before Christmas.  I’ll have some of the same students as before.  This should be interesting as they are seniors and not very accepting of my strict classroom rules.
