I’m feeling a little ADD with Christmas break right around the corner.
Hence, I bring to a few rambling thoughts and pictures.

That’s my main idea and supporting details umbrella. The visual idea came from my friend, Barb. I took the main idea my classes had pulled out from a reading passage, taped it to the top of the umbrella, and hung the supporting details from the spokes. My students got spooked when I opened it inside the classroom.

I adopted two of my students for the duration of the basketball season. On home game days, “moms” provide goodies to their “children.” I decided to go with a Christmas theme and customized the stockings I bought at Walmart with both of my guys’ nicknames. I’ll fill them tomorrow and present them during class. What do you want to bet that they will be the only two guys toting stockings around school.
😀

My newest knitting project. I’m using yarn I purchased last summer in Alaska. Ahhhh…the bliss that accompanies the feel of merino and cashmere as it slides between your hands.

Chicky came home on Saturday. She’d almost forgotten about her long-dreamed-about ring until I presented the box to her.
She smiled but held her breath as she put it on. It was a perfect fit, and you could not have wiped the look of joy from her face. She admitted, though, that although she’s planning on wearing it every day, it’s going to take some getting used to. She’s not used to wearing nice jewelry on a daily basis.
I’m just glad she likes it. 🙂
